During 2011 to 2013 we developed The Marine Biodiversity Atlas of Southwestern Portugal covering an extension of shoreline of 200 km between Tróia and Burgau (SW Portugal).
Surveys included visual observations and underwater sampling points. The main output of this project was to identify and characterise natural habitats, marine ecosystems and their biodiversity.
The data collected will be used to develop a website to create public environmental awareness and education, to capture the interest of the general public to some of the most fascinating natural dynamic and sensitive ecosystems.
